Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations Aberdeen, Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast, Perth or Reading whilst other SSER locations can be considered.

The role

At SSE Renewables, we're delivering some of the world's most ambitious offshore wind projects, helping create a cleaner, more affordable and more secure energy future. As an Offshore Wind & Renewable Energy Analyst, you'll play a key role in shaping project design and investment decisions across our global offshore wind portfolio through advanced analysis, modelling and insight.

This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of offshore wind development, influencing the performance, viability and long-term success of major renewable energy projects from the earliest stages of development through to delivery.

You will

Own and deliver wind resource analysis using data from meteorological masts and remote sensing devices to support critical project decisions.
Design and optimise offshore wind farm layouts, balancing energy production, technical constraints, environmental considerations and commercial outcomes.
Conduct wind flow, wake modelling and energy yield assessments to maximise project performance and support investment cases.
Support site conditions assessments, providing insight that influences turbine selection, foundation design and project strategy.
Develop and enhance analytical tools, models and software capabilities using Python and Matlab to improve efficiency and decision-making.
Support Levelised Cost of Energy and energy/cost time series modelling.

You'll also have opportunities to contribute to metocean studies, operational asset performance analysis, wind measurement campaigns, noise assessments and innovative solutions that support the continued growth of SSE Renewables' global portfolio.

You have

Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Environmental Science or a related technical discipline.
Strong analytical and data processing capabilities with the ability to translate complex information into practical recommendations.
Experience using industry-standard wind resource assessment software such as Windographer and WindFarmer Analyst.
Experience supporting offshore wind resource and site conditions assessments.
Knowledge of CFD wind modelling techniques and their application to renewable energy projects.

It would be great if you also have

Programming skills in Python and/or Matlab.
Experience working within multidisciplinary energy or infrastructure projects.
A passion for innovation and continuous improvement within renewable energy.
