"I joined SSE with the basic chainsaw certification and the company provided me with the training and certifications to become a fully qualified utility arborist, working as part of a squad for 4 years I then had the opportunity to progress to the role of chargehand and then onto my current role as field manager. I recommended my two brothers to the company one who has since moved onto the harvesting team and the other is now where I began my SSE career 10 years ago as a trainee.
The tree cutting team is a great team to be part of. Everybody takes pride in their work and wants to do a good job for SSE and our customers each day. There is a real team environment and with the nature of the job we do day to day it's important to have a strong team who look out for each other to ensure we all go home safe."
