What types of craft roles are available?
Linesperson
We're looking for experienced Linespeople to join our Northern and Southern Electric Power Distribution teams.
A Linesperson is at the heart of our network, helping us to power change and this is an opportunity to develop an exciting career and further authorisations within SSE.
Jointers
A Cable Jointer is at the heart of our network, helping us to power change and this is an opportunity to develop an exciting career and further authorisations within SSE.
You'll be working on HV & LV Network, carrying out jointing, cabling and excavation work on a pre-planned and quick response basis.
Arborist
Our Arborist teams help to ensure that during bad weather, trees do not fall on power lines. Working with highly skilled teams, they clear trees and vegetation in proximity to our overhead transmission and distribution network, ultimately keeping the lights on for our customers.
We're growing our team and looking for people who love being outdoors and have experience climbing or working at height. If you have previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture that's a bonus, although full training will be given.
Reinstator
In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for reinstating SSE excavations to Code of Practice and reduce our contractor expenditure.
You'll work as part of a team, reinstating excavations in highways and private sites which are necessary to maintain our distribution network, ensuring good team communication and that safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
