Base Location: London & the Home Counties

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus+ a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

What is the Role? 

The O&M team within SSE Energy Solutions operates many types of complex energy networks. Operating these networks over their whole life in an efficient and effective manner is core to our overall Operational, Financial and commercial success. The O&M Manager will work closely with their colleagues in Asset Management, Network Authority and Projects to ensure our whole life operational activities are based on sound operational experience and industry best practice..

 

They will also be the senior point of operational escalation and lead on the resolution to significant operational issues impacting our existing Heat networks. In conjunction with the Senior Network Authority the Senor O&M Manager is responsible for the analysis and evaluation of fault and reliability trends across our Asset base. They will lead on initiatives to overcome the issues identified in the analysis. 

The O&M Manager provides support for selection and performance management of maintenance contractors and contracts

Key responsibilities will include:

- Foster a culture of health and safety in line with the SSE safety values

- Ensure that our planned maintenance strategies are is delivered to time and cost. Review all PPM records on Asset management System for accuracy and completion. Work with O&M and Assets team on identifying patterns and trends and support solutions for any repetitive faults. 

- Review monthly contractor performance reports to ensure that our planned preventative maintenance program is being delivered to time and specification

- Support and liaise with Asset Managers – Senior Network Authority, around the identification and resolution of underlying operational issues

- Work extensively with the wider Heat team to ensure that any poorly performing networks are identified and have a robust remedial action plan in place to return the network to the performance levels expected of it

- Responsible for management of Asset Management System Project Work Order

- Management of Critical Spares process and stakeholder in Spares management process, including records on Asset Management System.

- Support the creation, approval and delivery of capital replacement business cases and the works associated with them.

- Take responsibility for planning, implementing and executing emergency response services with the accountable asset owners. These services are to be documented and form part of asset business continuity plans and emergency response services (bronze to gold command)

- Main point of point for O&M in CHP operation monitoring

- Responsible for management of Asset Management System Project Work Orders

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we’d love you to have:

- Strong experience in managing or supporting engineering teams

- Strong experience in District Heating

- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively

- Experience in the management of contractors delivering maintenance works

- High levels of customer service (internal and external)

- Good organisational skills, methodical thinker and the ability to prioritise
