The role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the equipment that helps keep the power station operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

Working as part of the engineering team, you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, support plant improvement projects and contribute to outage activities across the site. This is an opportunity to work on a wide range of critical equipment while developing your technical skills within a safety-focused environment.

You will

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment, helping maximise reliability and availability across the station.
  • Support engineering and improvement projects, contributing to the specification, procurement, installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required technical and quality standards.
  • Control isolations, permits and safe access to equipment, taking responsibility for safe systems of work when appointed as an Authorised Person.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, drawings and job plans while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

You have

  • A National Craft Certificate in Mechanical Engineering at NFQ Level 6, or an equivalent mechanical qualification.
  • Experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, utilities, power generation or other safety-critical engineering environment.
  • Experience managing or working under permit systems, controlling isolations and following safe systems of work.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues safely and effectively.
  • Competent in the use of Enterprise Asset Management software for work control. Experience in Maximo would be beneficial

Experience of pumps, valves, rotating equipment, compressors, hydraulic systems, engineering drawings or mechanical contractor management would be advantageous. However, we welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate transferable skills and a willingness to learn.
