The role

We’re focused on delivering the energy the world needs today while building a better, more sustainable future. This is a key leadership role at the heart of that transition.

As Head of Origination & Transactions for UK & Ireland, you’ll lead the team responsible for identifying, shaping, and progressing renewable energy opportunities across a range of technologies. Your work will directly contribute to growing our project pipeline and maximising value across our portfolio.

You’ll play a central role in shaping investment decisions—recommending priority opportunities to the Renewable Executive Committee (REC) and ensuring alignment with our strategic ambitions.

You’ll oversee opportunities from early concept through to Non-Binding Offer (NBO), working closely with Corporate Finance and Technology Business Units (TBUs). From there, you and your team will remain closely involved—providing continuity, insight, and strong relationship management throughout each transaction.

You’ll also lead on partnerships, bids, and acquisitions, including identifying and onboarding the right partner organisations to help us succeed.

You will

  • Lead the identification and development of new renewable energy opportunities, from early concept through to initial deal stage
  • Make informed decisions on which opportunities to progress, building strong business cases and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to shape projects, partnerships, and acquisitions
  • Stay close to market trends, policy developments, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and manage risk
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team, while working across a wider network of specialists

You have

  • Experience leading complex commercial projects, transactions, or investments, ideally within the renewables sector
  • Strong financial and strategic thinking, with the ability to assess value, risk, and long-term potential
  • A track record of influencing and building relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Experience working across teams or organisations to deliver shared outcomes
  • A collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge, innovate, and continuously improve
