About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £55200 - £83000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the SSE Renewables finance team as a Financial Performance, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) manager focusing on our substantial offshore and hydro businesses.

This will be a key role within the FP&A team with responsibility for ensuring accurate and insightful reporting and analysis of historic performance as well as budgeting and forecasting of the income statements of these business with earnings in excess of £700m both in the year and as part of SSER’s long term business planning process.

As part of this role you will:

- Be responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful analysis on monthly financial and operational performance of the Offshore and Hydro businesses

- Be responsible for the delivery of robust near-term financial forecasts throughout the financial year including clear and timely communication of changes, risks and opportunities facing these businesses

- Be proactive in identifying and understanding key external risks and opportunities to the Offshore and Hydro businesses and quantifying and articulating the impact of these to the businesses current and future performance

- Be responsible for the short, medium and long-term strategic financial planning processes of the Offshore and Hydro businesses, including the 5 and 10 year plans, as well as the annual budget and short term forecasting working with Commercial Finance to ensure all appropriate risks and opportunities are identified and reflected.

- Provide proactive business insight and analysis by identifying and producing ad-hoc analysis on a wide range of financial and operational issues as they arise.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Be a fully qualified accountant with 5 years+ PQE in a similar role ideally with experience of the renewables/electricity markets and a strong ability to work independently

- Extensive proven responsibility of the planning and coordination of robust monthly reporting, annual budgeting and detailed long term forecasting in an FP&A role or similar

- You will be able to effectively communicate financial performance  and have excellent skills in interpreting and assimilating from multiple data sources, including external market data, and rendering into meaningful insight

- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills (knowledge of project financing would be an advantage)

- Experienced/knowledgeable of Oracle based accounting and forecasting systems
