The role
Are you looking for a new challenge? We have an excellent opportunity for you to join our team as a Cost Analyst within our SSEN Distribution Customer Service team.
This dynamic team serves as the first point of contact for customers seeking new electricity connections, increasing the size of their existing connections, installing generation, or relocating equipment supplying their property.
In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers to analyse the delivery of Connections projects, ensuring that all costs are accurately allocated before financial closure. You'll investigate any discrepancies, including under/overspends, to ensure the financial integrity of the projects.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can meet targets, deliver exceptional financial control, and consistently demonstrate a "we are here to help you" mentality in customer interactions.
You will
Cost Analysis: Review and analyse the delivery of Connections projects against initial quotes, ensuring all costs are allocated accurately prior to financial closure. Investigate and resolve any anomalies, including under/overspends.
Regulatory Reporting: Ensure all project details are correctly recorded to guarantee accurate and up-to-date regulatory reporting.
Problem-Solving: Address a wide variety of projects, identifying potential issues and working quickly and effectively to resolve them.
Process Improvement: Apply process improvement methodologies to identify opportunities for reducing waste, inefficiencies, and unnecessary costs.
Customer Service Excellence: Foster a culture of exceptional customer service by maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring a collaborative and efficient working environment.
You have
Cost-Saving Expertise: Proven experience in identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve financial efficiency.
Forecasting Skills: Experience in forecasting future costs based on historical data, industry trends, and company goals.
Data Analysis Proficiency: Strong analytical skills, with experience using tools like Excel or other financial software to track costs and identify trends.
Reporting & Insights: Experience preparing financial reports and presenting actionable insights and recommendations to management.
System Knowledge: Experience with our internal systems, PROMIS and Harmony, is highly beneficial, but not essential.
