Base Location: Portsmouth / Reading
You would be required to travel to our projects based in Southampton, Winchester and Isle of Wight.
Salary: £58,630 - £68,098 + car / car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
As a Project Manager, your role involves overseeing a variety of projects following our investment management process.
The Large Capital Delivery team handles tasks such as asset replacement, network reinforcement, and customer connection projects across primary and grid distribution networks, encompassing voltages up to 132kV.
You will
- Oversee various projects following our investment management procedures.
- Handle all project aspects like safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Ensure project documents and contracts are compliant and complete as per SSEN processes during all phases.
- Support customers and partners with excellent stakeholder engagement for safe, efficient project execution.
- Join a project team collaborating with design engineers, field staff, contractors, customers, and stakeholders.
You have
- Prior experience managing projects with underground cables, overhead lines, and substation works up to 132kV is desirable, but other relevant sectors/utilities may be considered.
- An Engineering qualification is preferred, and a recognised construction safety and project management qualification would be beneficial.
- Contract management experience (which is essential), ideally with NEC construction contract knowledge.
- Familiarity with the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 and understanding of Client, Principal Designer, and Principal Contractor roles is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial. You must engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. Good problem-solving abilities and the ability to thrive under pressure are also necessary.
Regular travel is required therefore candidates must hold a current driving licence.
