Utility Groundworker

Salary: £28,072 - £32,605 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

Our team is growing, and a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Utility Groundworker to join our Cabling team in Inverness. 

This is a physically demanding role, involving extensive reinstatement and excavation works on the highway and private land. 

You will

- Work as part of a team, and be responsible for cable laying, reinstating excavations in highways and private sites which are necessary to maintain our distribution network.

- Ensure good team communication and that safe working practices are always adhered to. 

- Work outside in all weather conditions, to strict timescales, your work must comply with the regulations we abide by, and you'll be able to deliver excellent customer service where reactive maintenance is required. 

- At times assist with other ad hoc projects, whilst working to our Code of Practice and reduce our contractor expenditure. 

You have

- Some experience with cable laying, excavation, reinstating techniques including Tarmac, modular services, slabs and concrete.  

- Experience of working on public highways involving setting up and taking down temporary traffic signals to the code of practice and working alongside hotbox, concrete, and grab lorries. 

- Previous experience working around utilities, hand digging as well as using plant (with relevant tickets) would be advantageous.

- A full UK driving license is required.
