What is the Role?
As a Consents and Environment graduate joining SSEN Transmission, you will follow a specialist pathway. Specialists will work with experts in their specialism, gaining exposure within a business area for the duration of their graduate programme with the aim of providing relevant experience that will lead to a substantive post.
SSEN Transmission are currently seeking a Graduate that is highly motivated and has a genuine passion to help deliver some of the most iconic upcoming National infrastructure projects in Scotland. In doing so, they will positively support Scotland’s ambitions to meet Net Zero through connecting renewable energy and transporting it to the core centres of demand.
You will support our team of Consents and Environmental Managers (either in the development and consenting phase, or during construction and delivery). This will involve coordinating environmental input to project design, supporting the preparation of consents, and the coordination and monitoring of contractor and internal environmental and consenting compliance. All this to ensure we meet all statutory and internal obligations along with our sector leading environmental and sustainability ambitions.
We are seeking future graduates who demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental management and the consenting process throughout the project lifecycle. As part of this, we ask candidates to indicate their primary area of interest—whether terrestrial, marine, or both.
Opportunities also exist to work on bespoke consents and environmental initiatives to add value to the way we provide support to our wider project teams and our contractor base. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic, fast paced and industry leading company.
What do I need to join?
You’ll have a minimum of a 2:2 bachelor's degree in one of the disciplines listed above.
We'd love you to have some practical work experience that reflects your passion for the energy sector, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. You'll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges and should have a genuine interest in SSEN Transmission and the prospect of a long-term future with us.
We want you to feel confident about what happens next in our recruitment process, which has three stages: Online Testing, Video Interview, and an In-Person Assessment Centre.
