The role
Are you passionate about accelerating Italy’s clean energy transition? At SSE Renewables, we’re delivering a future powered by renewable energy. This role is a key part of that mission — helping connect utility-scale renewable energy projects to the national grid. You’ll be at the forefront of supporting the development, construction and operation of our green energy assets in Italy and across Southern Europe, making a meaningful contribution to a net zero future.
You will
Lead and manage the grid connection process for renewable projects in Italy, from early development through to energisation and operation.
Liaise with the national transmission system operator (TSO), regulators, and grid authorities to ensure compliance with technical and administrative grid connection requirements.
Oversee power system studies and simulations to demonstrate compliance with grid codes (including steady-state, RMS, EMT, and frequency domains), coordinating with contractors and equipment providers.
Support internal teams — including Development, Procurement, Construction, and Operations — by providing specialist guidance on grid-related technical and regulatory matters.
Manage documentation and approvals through national grid platforms and portals, ensuring timely delivery of permits and regulatory milestones.
You have
A degree in Electrical Engineering and strongexperience working in grid connection and compliance within the Italian renewable energy sector.
In-depth knowledge of national grid codes and the technical and regulatory requirements for connecting generation assets to the transmission or distribution network.
Experience interacting with national TSOs, regulators, and local institutions for grid connection, testing, commissioning, and market access.
Proficiency with power system simulation tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, or PSS/E.
Languages: Fluent in Italian, B2 level in English is required, and Spanish is a plus.
