Base Location: Glasgow preferred 

Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. 

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time 

The role 

We are recruiting a Senior Contract Manager in the Development team, supporting our growing and existing fleet of assets. We are therefore looking for a SCM with mainly Procurement experience (ideally in Development procurement) but with sufficient Commercial acumen (ideally with a GS background) to join our Thermal Procurement and Commercial team to support this exciting project pipeline in the UK and Ireland. 

You will 

  • Support the Head of Procurement and Commercial in providing a world class procurement and commercial service to internal customers, ensuring all aspects of delivery are following internal controls as established through the Large Capital Projects Governance and Commercial Manuals. 
  • Manage the procurement of essential work scopes, procuring at lowest cost of ownership and in accordance with the principle of efficiency and best value.  This will include covering all commercial, business and legal project risks in contracts to ensure ongoing value for money through the lifetime of the contract(s).
  • Manage other procurement activities such as the development of procurement strategies, managing the procurement process, negotiation of contract terms and conditions and price through to contract award whilst ensuring compliance with the European Union (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2016 where necessary.
  • Undertake cost estimating to the required standard and accuracy, along with cost and budget management via regular cost reporting and ensure all relevant change management procedures are in place and followed.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance. 

You will have

  • Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent , with Construction, Engineering or Oil & Gas Procurement experience and direct entry to a recognised appropriate professional body preferred (MRICS /CIPS)
  • Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts with understanding of the relevant conditions of contract in supporting strategic projects/contracts. 
  • Detailed knowledge of the processes relating to procurement strategy 
  • Experience with procuring high value, high risk packages within a regulated environment
