Base Location: Perth

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join our Investment Appraisal and Analysis team. Your cost benefit analysis and economic evaluation will support the delivery of key strategic net zero infrastructure in the north of Scotland.

You will

- Conduct thorough economic assessments of future infrastructure projects, including cost-benefit analyses and socioeconomic impact, to inform project feasibility and investment decisions.

- Maintain SSENT’s innovation framework and investment decision-making methodology, ensuring they align with evolving strategic investment priorities, namely Area System Planning.

- Deliver economic analysis and supporting documentation to aid regulatory approval for large network infrastructure and innovation investments.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, environmental and sustainability analysts, and policy experts to proactively pursue data collection, analysis and process improvements.

- Produce high-quality reports and presentations that effectively communicate complex economic concepts and findings to diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.

You have

- A degree in Economics, Finance, Energy Economics, or relevant experience.

- Demonstrated expertise in economic analysis and a proven track record in conducting economic assessments for large infrastructure projects.

- Knowledge of the UK electricity networks energy sector, including policies and regulation combined with a passion for sustainability and renewable energy, coupled with a commitment to contributing to a more sustainable future.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex economic concepts in a clear and concise manner and a collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

- Experience managing/mentoring others (desirable, but not essential).
