Quantity Surveyor

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join the existing team who support the Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery Asset Management business unit.

You will

  • You will be responsible for the commercial management and administration of contracts in the Asset Management (operational) phase across the Onshore domestic (UK & Ireland) and portfolio including Onshore Wind, Solar and Batteries all to ensure successful delivery in accordance with all internal policies and procedures such as the Procurement Manual, Commercial Manual and Large Capital Projects Governance Framework Manual.

  • You will be able to combine strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience delivering large projects/programmes of work.

  • Reporting to the Senior Contract Manager, the Contract Manager will support the Senior Contract Manager to deliver strategies and contracts, providing robust post contract commercial management which will support the Asset Management business unit's goals and objectives.

  • You will also support the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance.

You have

  • Highly numerate candidate who can analyse and interpret numerical data with highly developed contract drafting and writing skills, ideally with experience gained through drafting and interpreting construction contracts or operation and maintenance agreements.
  • Excellent IT skills are essential including knowledge of all MS Office applications, Jaggaer and Oracle purchase systems.
  • You will possess the ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure whilst still delivering quality output and prioritise requirements where necessary.

  • A keen eye to detail is a must as well as the ability to work methodically through a demanding workload. You will need to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and hold the ability to influence and negotiate with users outside your own sphere of responsibility.

  • Working knowledge of the relevant conditions of contract, along with experience in estimating, cost and budget management, procurement related activities, contract administration and payment and expenditure management. It would be ideal if this experience had been gained in a comparable, industry however this is not essential.
