Salary: £42,600 - £55,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

An opportunity has arisen for a Property Solicitor to join our well-established Distribution Property Team.

This is a great opportunity for you to develop your legal skills in this high profile and rapidly evolving industry. You will be a key part of the legal team and work closely with business representatives to achieve their goals and objectives by providing high quality, pragmatic support and advice in relation to property transactions for the electricity distribution network.

You will

  • Provide high quality, pragmatic legal advice in relation to a variety of transactional property work including acquisitions, leases and servitudes for substations, overhead lines and other key project deliverables.
  • Get to know your clients and establish and maintain good business relationships with key contacts as well as the wider legal team.
  • Manage your time efficiently and demonstrate a professional approach to your clients and team members.
  • Work with the solicitors in the team over a variety of different legal transactions.
  • Take responsibility for managing and delivering your workload.

You have

  • Experience as a Scottish Property Solicitor with at least 5 years’ post qualifying experience in a property role with confidence in acquiring Scottish property land rights and leases (including dealing with Sasine title deeds) as well as Register of Scotland applications. Rural/crofting law experience would be advantageous. -If you are dual qualified with some exposure to English property work, this would be an advantage.
  • Skills in producing clear, precise written work and legal documents, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong and collaborative partnerships based on trust.
  • Flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities.
  • A good understanding of O365 apps.
