Base Location: Kirkwall, Orkney

Salary: £43,704 - £64,738 depending on experience and authorisations + car/car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

The role

As a Project Manager/Engineer based in Orkney, you will work collaboratively with internal teams to optimise investment activities while supporting network outages and ensuring that all necessary measures are in place along with substation maintenance.

You will

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure investment activities maximise customer impact, network performance, efficiency and minimise future outages.
  • Gather the necessary data, including fault history and design and implement proactive engineering solutions.
  • Have full accountability for controlling unit costs and all associated contractor and supplier costs.
  • Attend active faults and manage post fault repairs and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Manage Network risk, assessing Network Outages and agreeing the necessary contingency arrangements.

You have

  • An HNC in Electrical Engineering or relevant industry experience within the discipline.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of our Network, including an understanding of Distribution plant and equipment.
  • Ideally you will hold SAP Authorisation.
  • Suitable experience working in a similar field with knowledge of our electricity network and the wider market that we operate in.
  • Strong time management skills, with an ability to prioritise works based on a multitude of external factors.

A valid driving licence is essential.
