Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
This role plays a key part in the successful delivery of the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) — a major High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission project connecting Peterhead, Scotland to Wrenhall, England. You’ll support the ongoing execution and delivery of both HVDC and cable equipment from our key supply chain partners, with a strong focus on DC and AC equipment and cable manufacturing activities through to handover to logistics and installation teams.
As the role develops, you’ll become the Manufacturing Lead and subject matter expert within the EGL project suite, working closely with internal stakeholders including engineering and quality teams as well as being part of the Logistics Task Force supporting on-time delivery of equipment to site by our Contract partners.
You will
- Lead and manage the oversight of main Contractor’s manufacturing activities for HVDC and cable equipment, ensuring safe delivery to schedule, cost and quality.
- Establish strong relationships with supply chain partner logistics and manufacturing personnel across a wide ranging international supply chain.
- Manage specialist marine survey, geospatial resources as well as third-party surveillance contracts and represent the Employer at Contractor and sub-contractor manufacturing facilities, including overseas travel as required.
- Support the Lead Project Manager in reporting, planning, and commercial oversight of manufacturing sub-contracts including HVDC, Mechanical and Electrical (inc. Climate Control) and High Voltage Cable.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering and quality teams to ensure alignment and excellence.
- Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with SHE guidelines and SSE governance processes.
You have
- Broad experience in manufacturing activities (including testing) and logistics, ideally within HVDC or land/subsea cable installation industries.
- Strong understanding of project management processes, contract management (NEC3/FIDIC), and technical reporting.
- Ability to manage interfaces with design teams and internal engineering functions establishing a clear and deliverable manufacturing strategy for the project.
- Proven leadership in safety management and incident reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of successful delivery across progress, risks, mitigations, costs and programme.
