We are looking for a Craft Technician – Plant & Cable to help support and achieve SSEN Transmission ‘s goal for Net Zero. You would provide a vital role collaborating with our various stakeholders to inspect, operate and maintain the Transmission network across Scotland.
The duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Providing the front-line technical expertise and day to day work coordination in substation plant and cable.
- Building strong working relationships to assist Operations and Maintenance management to coordinate and deliver all aspects of inspection, repairs and maintenance activities.
- Providing hands-on management of wide range high value, network critical electrical assets.
- Interpreting and analysing various forms of inspection data, taking ownership and management for remediation, rectification and or replacement of core components to ensure the ongoing safe and efficient operation of the Transmission network.
- Taking responsibility for precise and careful reporting of work done, identification and escalation of developing and emergent trends in asset defects and failures.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Ability to coach, mentor and support less experienced colleagues to help develop.
- Ability to independently supervise non-routine and detailed tasks.
- Full knowledge of maintenance management system.
- Commenced/working through SVQ / NVQ in STEM discipline or equivalent qualification, gained equivalent experience.
