OT Senior Engineer

Salary: £61,620 - £72,592 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role

Support the Enterprise Control Centre (ECC) business critical Operational Technology (OT) real time systems that are necessary to monitor and control electrical networks. This will include day-to-day monitoring and issue resolution on our primary OT Applications including GE PowerOn Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), data historian and SCADA simulation as well as proactive support and improvement of such applications.

The role will also work closely with support engineering on substation telemetry, automation systems and communication systems as well as project engineering for OT projects including the design, build and operations of upgrades and enhancements to operational applications and their infrastructure.

You will

  • Act as subject matter expert for OT applications including GE PowerOn ADMS, data historian and SIM SCADA

  • Monitor the ongoing health and performance of the GE PowerOn ADMS, data historian and SIM SCADA application ensuring changes to the environment are formally managed, requests and incidents are actioned and resolved in a timely manner and continuous improvement is a focus.

  • Working with support and project teams: Design, build, configure, test and deliver OT real time system application upgrades and changes ensuring that they meet appropriate company and industry OT Security best practices and procedures.

  • Build a strong engagement with the operational control room team, supporting them day to day with requests and incidents relating to the OT applications and working with them on system enhancements, new capability demand
  • Coordinate technical response to incidents/tests to recover OT applications as quickly as possible, communicating and collaborating with business continuity and cyber risk and information security teams and driving lessons learned and improvements from response to such incidents and tests.

You have

  • Proven experience in GE PowerOn ADMS, Data historian, SIM SCADA with detailed knowledge and technical ability with regard to system configuration and management
  • Strong working knowledge of OT networks, SCADA, ICS, and secure infrastructure design and delivery
  • Focus on championing secure-by-design and cyber security best practice and familiar with NIS, CAF and IEC 62443 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build strong trusted partnerships with operational control teams, infrastructure and network delivery teams both internal and external 
  • Service and support mindset, taking ownership of incident resolution and proactively focusing on continuous improvement
