Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

The Role

Based in our state-of-the-art control room in Perth, Scotland, you’ll be a key member of our 24/7 operations team, monitoring, controlling, and optimising over 2GW of onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage assets. In this critical role, you’ll support the safe operation of our fleet, help maintain stability of the national electricity system, maximise plant availability, and ensure full contractual and regulatory compliance.

This is a shift-based role, so you’ll need to be within a 45-minute commute of the Control Room and able to work a structured rota as part of our year-round coverage.

You will

  • Monitor and operate onshore wind, solar and battery assets in real time, responding quickly to faults through remote intervention or by coordinating on-site support.
  • Despatch assets to maximise revenue across key markets (Balancing Mechanism, Wholesale, Ancillary and contracted services).
  • Manage asset availability and report on capabilities accurately and transparently, ensuring Grid Code compliance and market integrity.
  • Act as an Operational Controller, undertaking high volumes of safety transactions and managing control of assets in line with safety rules and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Support site safety, actively monitoring the presence and wellbeing of hundreds of site attendees across more than 50 operational sites.

You have

  • Experience working in an operational control room preferably with an understanding of the national electricity system.
  • Strong analytical and IT skills, including experience with SCADA, telephony systems and multiple software platforms.
  • Relevant technical education (HNC/HND or equivalent) and operational experience with electro-mechanical plant or apparatus.
  • Practical experience of industry safety frameworks and a clear understanding of how to apply them.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and adapt with confidence, flexibility and a genuine passion for renewable energy.
