The role
We have an opportunity for an Operations Engineer to join our team supporting the operation, maintenance and capital delivery activities on our Transmission network. Based within the South & East region, the role will involve planning, delivering and reporting all maintenance activities on our assets, as well as supporting project delivery from concept to completion. Successful candidates will be required to build on their operational experience and gain operational authorisations, such as Senior Authorised Person.
You will
Support the Maintenance Manager in the planning, scheduling, delivery and reporting of the inspection, repair and maintenance activities across our network. Organise resources, plant and materials on behalf of the maintenance team and may also be required for out of hours standby duties.
Respond to faults and emergency repair works as necessary.
Support SSEN Transmission’s safety culture and will be proactive in improving the safety of yourself and colleagues.
Assist in the development of policies and procedures for working on our network.
Provide essential support to major projects including new build or refurbishment Substations, cables and overhead lines by getting involved in the development, delivery and commissioning and evaluation.
You have
Experience as a Senior Authorised Person, or willingness to work towards SAP authorisation up to and including 400kV.
A strong safety culture with an understanding of CDM regulations and awareness of operational safety.
Strong administrative, written and verbal communication skills and data management skills, through a variety of channels including the use of PowerPoint, Excel and Word are essential, experience with PowerBI would be advantageous.
The role requires a full current driving licence due to the requirement to travel to and be on site.
