Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Perth, Glasgow, Reading, Havant or Dublin

Salary: £35,200 - £75,100 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: 12 months fixed term contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The role

As an experienced Operational Excellence coach, you will be involved in the rollout of Operational Excellence across SSE Group.  Your remit will encompass the rollout of OE tools & techniques to teams within SSE Group to drive continuous improvement, empowering teams to drive change from the bottom up.  You will encourage a culture of innovation, agility, and high performance, ensuring that the Operational Excellence Programme delivers measurable value and aligns with the Group’s strategic goals.

You will

• Conduct modular OE training with the team leaders, OE Coaches, OE Champions, covering topics such as KPIs & performance boards, huddles, problem solving, coaching & empowerment, capacity management and how to build brilliant teams.

• Facilitate workshops with business teams such as Team Scoping, Team Mindset and Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) to identify opportunities for improvement and use OE tools to uncover the root cause.

• Provide in-depth induction, technical support and understanding of OE methodology, tools, and techniques to guide delivery of initiatives to deliver tangible benefits.

• Support the business to achieve benefit realisation and ongoing improvement of business KPIs, whilst using a structured approach to coach teams, and other key stakeholders, while pro-actively seeking out ways to identify value and opportunities to make our organisation more effective and efficient. 

• Support the Head of Group Operational Excellence with ad-hoc project requests, presentations and team coaching.

You will have

• LCS1a and/or Green/Black Belt certified would be beneficial.

• Experience in Continuous Improvement development, deployment and delivery

• Experience in tracking, creating, planning and delivering projects, working with a multiple range of diverse, high volume, strategic change initiatives

• Ability to motivate, develop and empower teams to successfully deliver the development of six sigma lean process analysts using A3 Lean Six Sigma.

• Proficiency in quality improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma is required
