The Role

At SSE Renewables, safety is our number one priority. It's at the heart of everything we do.

We're looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to support our portfolio of UK offshore renewable energy projects, working across both development and construction phases. This is a varied, site-focused role that combines practical safety leadership, stakeholder engagement and regulatory compliance to help ensure our projects are delivered safely and successfully.

Working on a rotational offshore basis, initially on Dogger Bank SOV's, you'll support activities across a number of offshore construction sites, providing expert guidance and helping to embed a strong safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.

You will

  • Provide expert Health & Safety support, advice and guidance to Offshore Project Managers, Package Managers and wider project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation, standards and project requirements across offshore activities.
  • Deliver day-to-day Health & Safety support throughout project development, construction and execution phases.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews, audits and Health & Safety assessments of contractors, suppliers and partner organisations where required.
  • Support multiple projects and workstreams, adapting to changing priorities and providing flexible safety leadership across the portfolio.

You have

  • Experience within offshore wind construction, marine operations or other high-risk operational environments is desirable, although not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and a passion for creating safe, compliant and high-performing workplaces.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capability, with the ability to assess risk, simplify complex issues and develop practical solutions.
  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH membership (or equivalent), or a commitment to working towards professional accreditation.

A full UK driving licence with willingness and ability to travel to offshore project locations as required is essential.
