The role

At SSE Renewables, we're delivering the green electricity the world needs today and tomorrow. Our Onshore Wind, Solar & Battery Land Team is at the heart of that ambition, helping bring renewable energy projects to life across the UK and Ireland.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping some of the UK's most game changing renewable energy projects, primarily focused in onshore wind developments across Scotland, while also supporting solar PV, battery energy storage and emerging renewable technologies. You'll work across the full project lifecycle, building trusted relationships, securing critical land rights and helping turn ambitious development opportunities into projects that power homes, businesses and communities for generations to come.

Working alongside a diverse team of experts, you'll influence project success from the earliest stages of development through to construction and delivery, making a direct contribution to a cleaner, more secure and sustainable energy future.

You will
  • Lead negotiations with landowners and stakeholders to secure the land rights, agreements and consents needed to deliver renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, solicitors, consultants, local authorities, community representatives and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage the delivery of land agreements and property interests throughout project development and construction, ensuring milestones are achieved on time.
  • Identify land-related risks and opportunities, providing practical solutions and clear advice to support project decision-making and successful delivery.
  • Contribute to the growth of our renewable energy portfolio, supporting projects across onshore wind, solar, battery storage and wider strategic development opportunities.

You have

  • Experience working in land, property, rural estates, utilities, infrastructure, planning, development or a related environment, with transferable skills that can be applied to renewable energy projects.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with experience securing agreements such as leases, options, acquisitions, easements, wayleaves or similar arrangements.
  • An understanding of land ownership, property rights and relevant landlord and tenant legislation.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and navigate complex or competing priorities.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to identify risks, overcome challenges and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

We welcome applications from candidates who may not meet every requirement listed above. If your experience is similar and you believe you could add value to the role, we'd love to hear from you.
