The role
Our Turbine Maintenance Team is responsible for the timely, compliant, and high-quality delivery of turbine maintenance on SSE Renewables onshore wind portfolio.
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will be the driving force behind the delivery of a high performing culture on our internally maintained wind farms. Some key responsibilities of the role include arranging the day-to-day logistics for the upkeep and maintenance of SSE windfarms in the appointed area, taking a lead role in the management and delivery of complex tasks, and coaching/mentoring members of your team to ensure they are adequately trained and experienced to carry out maintenance work scopes safely and to a high standard.
In this role, you will also be required to work closely with the regional Resource Manager to perform duties such as delivery of safety briefings, people management, budget management and a range of performance related reporting.
You will
Ensure Safety & Compliance: Implement and uphold Wind Turbine Safety Rules, site regulations, and PPE requirements while promoting a strong safety culture through audits, emergency exercises, and incident reporting (SEAR system).
Lead Maintenance Operations: Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure asset integrity, quality standards, and timely execution; manage updates in MAXIMO via the Fingertip app.
Develop & Enforce Safe Work Systems: Create work instructions, risk assessments, and safe systems of work across the SSE wind fleet.
Manage Assets & Teams: Work in conjunction with the regional resource manager to manage company vehicles, tools, IT equipment, and PPE; audit technicians for compliance and manage service team inventory.
Support Business Needs & Culture: Work flexibly across regions, support local teams, engage stakeholders, and lead by example to drive commitment and continuous improvement in onshore wind operations.
You have
Qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Discipline with NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or extensive hands-on experience.
Experienced in High-Tech Plant Maintenance, including servicing, troubleshooting, and modifications.
Proven Leadership Skills, with experience managing technical teams and working under Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
Strong Technical Writing & Safety Focus, able to produce reports, procedures, and risk assessments.
Well-Organised & Site-Accessible, with excellent problem-solving skills and located within ~60 minutes of the site.
