The role
SSEN are looking to recruit a Low Voltage Monitoring Operative in our Southern region. The role will involve working in a team to install monitoring equipment on our Low Voltage (LV) Network.
You will
- Ensure safe delivery of live LV working operations in distribution electricity substation environments in line with operational safety rules and safety legislation.
- Install and commission new low voltage monitoring apparatus including the installation of CTs, voltage reference and data connections.
- Undertake functional tests and commissioning of the monitoring apparatus.
- Act as an ambassador for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks when interacting with external and internal customers to deliver world class customer service and protect the SSE brand.
You have
- Knowledge of the electricity distribution network and experience of working in live electricity substation environments up to 11kV.
- Existing SSEN operational authorisations including LV working would be desirable.
- A high regard for safety with strong customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills are essential to this role as we deal with customer related issues face to face daily, and good service allows us to achieve our broader measure requirements and targets.
- A clean driving licence and flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must because the role will involve extensive travel throughout our network area.
