Salary:  £26,200 - £39,400 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

Are you ready to play a key role in supporting the transition to a low carbon future? We’re seeking a dedicated Legal Administrator to join our well-established Transmission Legal Team.  In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across our legal team.  Supporting three sub teams, Property and Consenting, Commercial and Construction, and Dispute Resolution, you’ll have a direct impact on enabling SSEN Transmission’s critical work in building and maintaining a Network for Net Zero.  SSEN Transmission is at the forefront of delivering billions of pounds of investment to meet growing low carbon energy demands.  By joining us, you’ll develop your career in a high profile and rapidly evolving sector, contributing to the safe and reliable supply of electricity to communities as we shape a sustainable energy future. 

You will

  • Manage documents, including handling post, obtaining signatures, ensuring digital storage, and formatting legal documents with precision. Support statutory and business processes through printing and collation.
  • Assist with Registers of Scotland and Revenue Scotland submissions, ensuring accurate reporting. Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes and maintaining a Transmission Legal intranet with team profiles, training materials, and resources.
  • Oversee IT systems access, procure IT and office supplies, and prepare essential documents, including management reports, PowerPoint slides, and presentations.
  • Coordinate and support team meetings, contribute to training sessions, and organise corporate and social events.
  • Handle general administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing diaries, arranging travel, taking minutes, and liaising with external law firms and colleagues to ensure seamless operations.

You have

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Experience in a legal or commercial environment, including familiarity with legal terminology and processes, is beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Skilled at engaging with colleagues at all levels, demonstrating sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
