The Role

At SSE, we are driving a data-led transformation across our Transmission business, and we are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality data products and digital solutions.

Working within the Data & Analytics function, this role will partner closely with the Data Product Manager and cross-functional squads across Data Engineering, Reporting and Automation. You will be responsible for translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements, ensuring alignment between stakeholders and technical teams, and supporting the end-to-end delivery of data products that deliver tangible business value.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a growing data capability, supporting projects that enable better decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and support regulatory and business outcomes.

You Will

  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to elicit, analyse and document requirements for data and digital initiatives aligned to business priorities
  • Act as the interface between business users and delivery teams, ensuring requirements are clearly understood, refined and translated into deliverable outcomes
  • Support the full delivery lifecycle of data products from discovery and design through to build, testing and business sign-off ensuring scope and acceptance criteria are met
  • Investigate and analyse source systems, data structures and key data attributes to accurately represent business needs and inform solution design
  • Work closely with the Data Product Manager to manage demand intake, support prioritisation decisions, and contribute to data product reviews and planning forums

You Have

  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst delivering digital or data-focused initiatives within a complex organisational environment
  • Strong understanding of data concepts, including data models, data flows and the ability to interpret and challenge data requirements
  • Experience working with modern data platforms (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or equivalent) within an enterprise setting
  • Practical exposure to Power BI or the Power Platform to support effective engagement with technical teams and solution validation
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge assumptions and drive clarity across diverse teams
