The role

We are expanding our data architecture capability at SSEN Transmission to support our business strategy: to deliver a network for net zero.

As a Senior Data Architect within the Data Architecture function, you will play a key role in shaping how data is structured, governed and used across the organisation. You will design and guide the delivery of data architectures that enable trusted, connected and high-quality data, supporting better decisions and outcomes across our business.

You will work closely with business and technology teams to ensure data is organised, accessible, interoperable, and aligned to strategic priorities, helping to unlock the full value of our data.

With an emphasis on data as an asset, this role requires leadership, effective cross-functional communication, and a strategic mindset.

You will

  • Develop and evolve data domain architectures that support business activities, ensuring solutions are scalable and aligned to long-term strategic goals
  • Design the structure and layout of data systems and platforms, while also assessing the impact of business change on the existing data architecture and support the prioritisation of these changes.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business, translating needs into clear data requirements and building strong, trusted relationships.
  • Ensure project data designs align with the overall data architecture, identifying and resolving issues early to support delivery. Work closely with application and integration teams to deliver reliable, well-documented integrations that meet agreed standards.
  • Improve how data is structured, managed and shared, driving better quality, consistency and interoperability across the organisation

You have

  • Proven experience in data architecture or data modelling, with a track record of delivering scalable, well-structured data solutions.
  • Experience working in complex environments, with an understanding of data integration and data exchange at scale
  • The ability to think strategically and link data decisions to business outcomes
  • Confidence working with a range of stakeholders, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and influence decisions.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret strategic plans, improving data flows, data integration and data quality supporting business initiatives
