IT Product Owner

Base Location: Reading

Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + Performance related bonus and a range of benefits for you and your family

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The Role

As an IT Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering business and customer value through Business Energy Billing & CRM platform outcomes. You will with the Senior Product Owner own the end-to-end platform lifecycle—from contributing to the vision and strategy, to ensuring operational excellence. You’ll be the critical bridge between the business and technology ensuring continuous delivery of impactful outcomes.

This role requires deep understanding of energy sector operations (particularly UMAX, Dynamics 365 and SSE Business Energy), with a proven ability to operate in complex, cross-functional environments. You'll need to be decisive and confident in negotiating with stakeholders on scope, priorities and trade-offs.

You Will

• Work with the Senior Product Owner to Define the vision of the product in collaboration with key stakeholders and communicate it with the team.
• Evolve the product roadmap based on feedback from customers, the product team, and the business, linked to business outcomes.
• Oversee product priorities, resource requirements, development stages working with leadership to attain further funding as required
• Remove impediments to product progress and assist with work dependencies, risks and issues
• Oversee the full lifecycle of product development—from design through delivery to operations and support.

You Have

• Deep domain knowledge of UMAX, the Energy Industry, and SSE BE operations.
• Proven success delivering complex technology products within an Agile framework.
• Experience shaping business cases, managing roadmaps, and achieving measurable business outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with Business and cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing third-party vendors and strategic partners.
