Salary: £35,200 - £52,800 + performance-related bonus and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

The job holder is accountable for supporting the delivery of the SSEN Distribution's Cyber Resilience journey; supporting the development and continuous improvement of SSEN Distribution Risk Management framework; assisting the OT Security Manager in meeting their risk management responsibilities; and for ensuring that the SSEN Distribution Board meets its regulatory and risk management obligations under the NIS Regulations 2018.

You will

  • Support identification, review, and reporting of principal risks, maintain risk policies and standards, and contribute to security governance and key metric reporting.
  • Coordinate internal and external compliance assessments, track audit findings, and drive remediation activities.
  • Perform continuous monitoring, track control health metrics, and innovate to improve systems and processes.
  • Partner with technical and project teams to advise on control requirements and support risk-related decisions.
  • Contribute to security awareness initiatives and maintain regular reporting to stakeholders.

You have

  • Understanding of the UK energy sector, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NCSC CAF, NIST, ISO 27001), and risk management processes.
  • Ability to learn and apply cybersecurity and privacy laws, regulations, and governance relevant to critical infrastructure.
  • Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Self-starter with enthusiasm for learning, open-minded, forward-thinking, delivery-focused, and a strong decision-maker.
  • Excellent influencing, analytical, and conceptual skills; degree qualification is advantageous.
