We have an exciting opportunity within SSEN Transmission for a GIS Analyst in the Asset Management & Operations Team, supporting the “Pathway to 2030” objectives and helping deliver our Net Zero goals.
About the role
Base Location: Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness or Glasgow
Salary: £35,142 - £40,246 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As a GIS Analyst some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing excellent GIS support, training, and guidance to colleagues across the Transmission business.
- Creating and maintaining the Transmission asset register to the required integrity and quality standards, including appropriate metadata.
- Helping develop the ESRI enterprise GIS solution to meet the needs of individual tasks and wider business processes.
- Supporting the integration of the GIS applications and spatial datasets with other business systems.
- Developing and protecting important internal and external stakeholder relationships to support good communication and efficient workflows.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A GIS-related degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of GIS programming/scripting languages (e.g. FME, Python, SQL, Arcade).
- Expertise in ESRI's ArcGIS Enterprise system, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Apps.
- Familiarity with a diverse range of data types and formats including terrestrial and marine datasets, and LIDAR, CAD and BIM.
- Substantial knowledge of the use and potential of GIS-based systems, coupled with a deep understanding of the core principles of GIS and data management.
- An understanding of the Major Projects Governance Framework and the ethos, gates, and requirements within energy networks or similar.
