About the Role

Base Location: Flexible Scotland

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600+ performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: 18months Fixed Term Contract or Secondment | Full Time | Flexible First options available

SSE is currently undergoing a 5 year+ £1Bn IT transformation programme spanning all areas of the business to support its continuing strategy. Finance Transformation is in its 3rd year as a programme which has been simplifying its processes, systems, controls and data and is now embarking on a Digital journey to ensure its Finance function is fit for purpose and can move in an agile way to support the implementation of the ambitious SSE overall strategy.

The Finance Transformation PMO Lead will support the Finance Transformation Leadership Team at a portfolio level to ensure the programmes deliver the Finance Vision through an efficient and effective PMO. Key portfolio responsibilities will involve ownership of the production of key governance packs ie Executive Steering Committee and Finance Transformation Board, attendance at governance meetings and capturing minutes and actions. The PMO lead will also be responsible for the tracking of the overall portfolio plan ensuring risks and issues are managed in accordance with the overall programme status and change management guidelines are known and adhered to. Other areas of responsibility will be the management of the governance model and associated guidelines and templates. The PMO Lead should also have experience of managing resource plans and associated programme budget management. The role will also involve oversight and management of the PMO Senior Analyst and PMO Junior Analyst.

- Ownership of the timely and accurate production of the key governance meeting materials ie Executive Steering Committee, Finance Transformation Board, Leadership Meeting and Programme RAID Management

- Proactively support the wider Finance Transformation programme leadership team and programme teams with understanding and applying PMO templates, guidelines, and tools.

- Support the quality assurance approach aligned to SSE change standards, to include the responsibility for regularly undertaking formal quality assurance reviews of projects, specifically focused on project deliverables quality and status, and produce a report for each project citing action required to address any areas of concern.

- Own Change Control governance across the overall portfolio, ensuring adherence to best practice methods and procedures.

- Ensure risks and issues are regularly tracked and that escalation processes are adhered to, tracking

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Managing and developing PMO Analysts to deliver a breadth of PMO services across a range of projects and programmes – essential

- Demonstrable ability to build positive relationships through strong communication, influencing and negotiating with project and programme stakeholders, including the PMO team

- Demonstrable experience of applying and driving adherence to project governance frameworks including completion of appropriate documentation

- Resource and budget management including 3rd party costs

- Prince 2 qualified or with equivalent experience in project management methodologies like Agile framework with strong knowledge of working in a Waterfall environment
