Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + performance related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The role
SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for an Enterprise Risk Manager to join our Risk & Assurance team. The Risk & Assurance team in SSEN Transmission proactively identify and assess enterprise risk and controls to deliver strategic priorities and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations through coordinated assurance activities.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure effective management of strategic, business and regulatory risks across SSEN Transmission.
The role holder will be required to maintain the SSEN Transmission Enterprise Risk Management Framework including principal, directorate and key workstream risk processes and will require experience in the management of risk in a complex and ambiguous regulated environment. The postholder performs a risk management advisory role to the Transmission Executive Committee (TEC) and is responsible for ensuring demonstrable compliance with the SSE Group risk and control framework as required by the SSE Group Audit Committee.
You will
- Work closely with the Senior Risk & Assurance manager to support the ongoing development and implementation of SSE's risk and control policies, procedures and frameworks within SSEN Transmission and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective identification and control of strategic, business and regulatory risks across SSEN Transmission and advising the Transmission Executive Committee on risk within the parameters of the SSE Group risk and control framework.
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of SSE's risk and control policies, procedures and frameworks within SSEN Transmission and ensuring that risk appetite and tolerance aligns with strategic goals.
- Establish and continuously monitor key risk indicators and, using a range of data analysis and technology tools, prepare risk reports for senior management and directors.
- Support compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards by collaborating with all business functions to proactively implement controls and assist with audits and regulatory reviews, including the annual Letter of Assurance process.
- Perform as the Risk Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SSEN Transmission, facilitating cross discipline engagements and building a risk aware culture.
You have
- In-depth experience as a Risk Manager with the ability to develop an independent strategic approach bespoke to the regulated Transmission business. You'll be adept at presenting and articulating complex information, business performance and risk reporting at Executive level combined with the ability to negotiate, justify and challenge risk assessments and deliverables.
- Proven skills as a relationship manager, you'll build strong, sustainable business relationships, be able to collaborate across organisational boundaries.
- Execute a compelling risk process cultivating relationships to plan and document progress while relating how business performance will increase business opportunity in the market and creating credibility with the Executive committee.
- Have excellent working knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint and Power BI will be vital in enabling you to develop, produce and share regular KRI reporting for the Transmission Executive Committee to the Group Risk Committee.
- Be a pro-active, self-starter with the ability to organise and prioritise your workload under your own initiative to meet strict deadlines and with strong attention to detail.
