Base Location: Foyers Pump Storage Power Station, Inverness
Salary: £37,075 - £43,063 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + shift allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Shift Work
As an Enhanced Craftsperson-Shift Operator within SSE Hydro Generation, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day safe operation, plant condition monitoring, supervision and maintenance of all site Hydro plant, ensuring the asset remains safe and available for commercial service.
Some of your main accountabilities will include.
Maintaining Foyers site plant, providing 24/7 support to the Hydro Operations Centre by responding to emergent works which if left unattended could impact on availability.
Completing scheduled safety inspections routine checks at Foyers power station, maintaining the premises and all generation plant and apparatus.
Supporting the Team Leader and wider site team by assisting with the planning, supervision and delivery of site work, Coordinating and completing specified packages of work.
Monitoring and accessing information using our SCADA control systems, monitoring plant, taking action and responding appropriately.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have.
Strong experience maintaining rotating plant preferably gained in a craft role within conventional Hydro, or from a similar industrial background with ability to read and interpret schematics and circuit diagrams. We’re very open to those who have transferable skills and experience gained working in industry.
The ability to work on your own initiative and have familiarity with a safe system of work. To successfully manage the duties of the position under the company’s safety rules (HSSR).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt them to all levels of seniority.
Experience working on or operating HV apparatus is desirable but training will be given.
Hold or be willing to work towards achieving a Restricted SAP authorisation with the ability to operate mobile and or fixed plant.
As the business is a 24 hour a day operation, you should be comfortable working outside core hours on a formal 12 hr shift rota, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the business. A full and current driving license is essential.
Due to the nature of this role, you should live, or be willing to re-locate, within 30 miles of Foyers Power Station.
