About the Role

Base Location: Portsmouth/Havant, Reading or Glasgow preferred however other SSEN offices/depots may be considered

Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + Performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The Distribution's Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is crucial in supporting the 'Transform, Run, and Grow' investments of the business. This includes managing a portfolio of over £200M with a focus on people, process, organisation, and technology transformation. Your work will involve setting up and establishing the PMO. You will help define, develop and embed new processes and methods to grow our organisational capability.

As a Senior PMO Analyst, you'll have a chance to influence portfolio management strategy and and develop process to help in the transformation of our organisation.

  • Play a crucial part in maturing our organisation's portfolio management capabilities through input to the development of portfolio management strategy.
  • Develop and maintain the portfolio plan using PMO expertise, capturing all programs and projects with their key milestones.
  • Develop and implement regular project and program reporting, offering a single source of truth on project performance.
  • Lead the delivery of clear, accurate and transparent portfolio reporting, offering challenge and support to ensure high-quality reports.
  • Develop and implement new processes to help manage demand across the portfolio.

Influencing skills and collaboration will be key for this role. 

What do I need

To thrive in this role, we're looking for candidates with the following skills and experiences:

  • Experience of developing, implementing, and embedding PMO processes and standards across an organisation.
  • Experience in working with large multi-site organisations supporting large-scale project delivery.
  • Proven project and program management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate. A project management qualification would be beneficial.
  • Capability in developing comprehensive, informative, and concise status reports for a variety of audiences including senior stakeholders.
  • A highly motivated, self-sufficient, problem-solver who can work independently, with strong communication skills to convey ideas effectively and collaborate across departments.
  • Experience in conducting data analysis and making strategic recommendations. You will use your quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to make recommendations for corrective actions, where appropriate.
