Salary: SS06 £43,704- £51,484 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + Skill Shortage Payment + Retention Bonus + Paid Overtime + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role:
Medway Power Station are recruiting an Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team. This is a critical role in ensuring thermal energy generation as part of SSE’s flexible, essential power portfolio.
Reporting to the Daywork Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining electrical apparatus and equipment to high standards, ensuring maximum plant availability and reliability.
Some of your other main accountabilities will include;
-Carrying out both planned and emergent works on all electrical assets at Medway Power Station, implementing Safe Systems of Work.
-Producing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safety Plans to ensure safe work practices.
-Managing plant breakdown maintenance and supervising contractor workers when required.
-Diagnosing faults, identifying plant improvements and enhancing overall plant reliability and efficiency.
-Proactively promoting and engaging with the company's safety culture to ensure all team members go home safely each day.
To be successful in this role, we would love you to have;
-An Electrical Apprenticeship or HNC in Electrical Engineering
-Knowledge or experience in CCGT Power Plant Maintenance, or a relevant background in another process industry.
-A broad understanding of Health and Safety at work; an IOSH or NEBOSH certificate would be advantageous.
-An electrical qualification such as City and Guilds 2391 (Periodic Inspection and Testing) and C&G2382 (BS7671 Wiring Regulations) are desirable.
-Experience maintaining electrical apparatus and machinery, including HV and LV switchgear, motors (AC/DC), motorised actuators, motor starters, and power transformers would be advantageous.
