Salary: £34,749 - £40,939 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical Fitter to join our Hydro Operations & Maintenance team based at Killin Workshop in Perthshire. This multi-disciplined team is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our hydroelectric generation assets across the region. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining the electrical integrity of our hydro infrastructure, supporting both day-to-day operations and longer-term project work.

You will

  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on hydro generation equipment, with occasional support on mechanical and civil tasks where required.
  • Respond to faults, performing fault-finding diagnostics, and carrying out repairs to restore operational performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections and condition monitoring to ensure our plant and equipment remains safe, compliant, and in peak working order.
  • Report operational defects and support risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental inspections.
  • Train to operate and isolate fixed generation plant safely, including flood control systems, ensuring you’re fully prepared to respond when needed.

You have

  • Proven experience in a similar electrical craft or maintenance role, ideally within a power generation or industrial setting.
  • A recognised qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or completion of a relevant electrical craft apprenticeship.
  • A good level of computer literacy, with the ability to learn and use our maintenance management systems (training provided).
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work — you’ll be expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions and support out-of-hours work when required.
  • A full UK driving licence and the willingness to live within, or relocate to, 40 miles of Killin Workshop.
