Civil Project Engineer

Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations – Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness or Perth

Salary: Up to circa £60,000 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

The role

SSEN Transmission are currently recruiting for an experienced Civil Project Engineer to support our growing portfolio of projects.

You will

- Provide civil engineering support across multiple projects by creating outline designs during development phases. Including site/route selection, ground investigation specification, earthwork designs, public road upgrades and landscaping for proposed assets.

- Define the scope of engineering design, as well as validate and verify the engineering design and construction and installation for assigned projects.

- Develop scope of works and detailed specifications, supporting site teams to ensure the quality of installations.

- Evaluate tenders and scope, procure and manage specialist services.

You have

- A Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), ideally chartered or working towards chartered status.

- Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects in the energy, utilities, electrical, or infrastructure sectors.

- A strong understanding of industry standards, specifications, and CDM Regulations, with the ability to apply them effectively in project delivery.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and guide outputs for various audiences, including senior stakeholders.

- Proficiency in digital design tools such as Infraworks, with knowledge of Civil 3D considered an advantage.
