The role
We’re looking for an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing Smart Buildings team, supporting our Egham branch covering London and SE England. You’ll play a vital role in expanding our reach and impact in the region by identifying, developing, and managing customer relationships while promoting our full range of smart, energy-efficient and decarbonisation services.

You will
Build and execute a dynamic sales plan to achieve personal sales targets and support wider branch goals.
Develop strong relationships with key customers, FM providers, and stakeholders across the built environment.
Promote SSE’s full suite of Smart Buildings services, including BEMS support, optimisation, and wider energy infrastructure solutions.
Create and deliver high-quality proposals and customer presentations that demonstrate the value of SSE’s offering.
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure a seamless handover and ongoing customer satisfaction.
You have
A proven track record in business development or sales within the built environment or smart building sector.
Experience of building and managing long-term customer relationships, with a solutions-focused mindset.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to deliver compelling, tailored proposals.
A solid understanding of energy efficiency and building technologies, ideally including BEMS.
A proactive and driven attitude, always seeking new opportunities and ways to add value.
