- Collaborate with contractors and project stakeholders to coordinate substation development, standardisation and innovation activities, including organising design reviews and technical sessions (e.g. HAZID/HAZOP/HAZCON and Design Authority Reviews)

- Lead and support a team of substation engineers, coordinating engineering activities throughout the project development phase.

- Work alongside the wider technical and project teams to ensure alignment with regional strategy and standardised design, acting as a key contact for technical queries and supporting engagement with Technical Authorities where required.

- Promote a strong safety culture across the project portfolio, including Safety in Design, CDM compliance and Principal Designer (PD) practices, in partnership with the Project Manager.

- Support the development of Design Management Plans, Engineering Works Information and design review schedules, helping to ensure effective and high-quality technical delivery.

You have

To be considered for this role, we would welcome applications from candidates with a mix of the following:

- Technical knowledge of the Transmission network, including an understanding of key systems, supporting functions and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. CDM, ESQCR) and its application within Transmission network projects and asset management.

- Experience building strong relationships with consultants and industry partners, and the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and collaborative way to support decision making.
