The role

We're looking for a Scheduler to join our Networks Operational Delivery team and play a key role in ensuring our operational workforce is deployed efficiently and effectively. Working as part of a wider scheduling team, you'll optimise work plans, maximise resource utilisation, and help deliver an excellent service to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by supporting the successful delivery of work programmes across the network.

Some of your main accountabilities will include;

  • Scheduling work to ensure that priorities are dealt with, and work is delivered to meet programme and customer requirements.
  • Ensuring that all periods of annual leave and training are programmed in advance to help identify any areas where we are under resourced.
  • Supporting the operational delivery teams by collating and processing all required paperwork and submitting to various parties once full validation checks have been undertaken.
  • Assisting with internal and external customer enquiries via email and on the telephone.
  • Attending daily meetings to feedback progress and improvement opportunities, raising concerns and seeking validation for any queries.

Due to the nature of business operations, you will be required to respond to emergency events including severe weather as and when required, supporting team members in their ability to respond as is appropriate for their role.

To be successful in this role, we would love you to have;

  • Previous experience in scheduling, administration and/or customer focused roles
  • Strong administration and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, customer focused environment.
  • Proven experience working to SLAs and KPIs, delivering results and demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in IT packages including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and the ability to analyse, interpret, and summarise data with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience coordinating staff, resources, schedules, budgets, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
