Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Inverness, Glasgow, Perth or one of our Operational Windfarms. Frequent travel to our sites in the North of Scotland will also be a requirement with this role. 

Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + car /car allowance-if applicable + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

As an Operational Standards Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our wind, solar, and battery operations across the GB North region are safe, compliant, and continuously improving.

You’ll act as a trusted, independent voice—working across teams to embed high standards, strengthen safety culture, and drive quality in everything we do. From supporting frontline teams to leading audits and shaping best practice, your work will directly contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our renewable energy assets.

You will

  • Champion high standards of safety and compliance by supporting teams to follow company procedures, (Operational Safety Rules) and industry best practice. (Wind Turbine Safety Rules)
  • Plan and deliver audit programmes, including scheduled and “with cause” audits, and support the business through external audits
  • Oversee the application of quality management processes, ensuring they are embedded and effective in day-to-day operations
  • Provide guidance, coaching and training to colleagues, helping to build capability and confidence across teams
  • Work collaboratively across functions, offering independent insight and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

You have

  • Strong knowledge of safety rules and safe systems of work within the wind or wider energy industry.
  • Experience in operations, maintenance, construction or development of renewable or similar infrastructure
  • The ability to plan, deliver and follow up on audits or assurance activities
  • Experience working with quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, support and engage a wide range of stakeholders

This role will require travel to remote windfarm locations therefore a current and valid driving licence is essential.
