The role

As a Development & Construction Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the safe delivery of major renewable energy projects. Working as part of the Offshore Health & Safety team, you’ll provide expert guidance, influence positive safety behaviours, and help ensure that people, assets, and the environment are protected at every stage of project delivery.

Your first assignment will support onshore construction activities for the Berwick Bank Offshore Wind Farm. This will require being on site in Dunbar and occasional offshore travel, so ideally you will reside or be willing to relocate to within a safe commuting distance to Dunbar, Scotland.

You will

  • Provide visible safety leadership on-site, supporting project teams to deliver construction activities safely while protecting people, assets and the environment
  • Work collaboratively with teams to develop and improve risk assessments, control measures and incident investigations, driving continuous improvement in safety performance
  • Carry out health and safety audits and due diligence assessments of contractors and partner organisations to ensure high standards are consistently met
  • Support and influence teams to embed a strong, positive safety culture, including delivering behavioural safety initiatives in a clear and consistent way
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, helping to balance safety, operational delivery and project timelines in a fast-paced environment

You have

  • A recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (such as NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) or relevant experience in a safety-focused role
  • Membership of IOSH (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this
  • Experience in construction, offshore wind, renewables, or another high-hazard industry, with transferable skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
  • The ability to travel offshore and to work in a dynamic, site-based environment and deliver effectively against challenging deadlines
