Base Location: Oban Depot

Salary: £30,684 - £36,666 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

The role

This role will support the expansion of our internal delivery capability, working alongside Overhead Linespersons to deliver network replacement, refurbishment and upgrade projects safely and efficiently.

You will

  • Operate 4x4 lorries and HIAB cranes to support Line Teams with the installation of plant and apparatus across the network.
  • Deliver stores, equipment and materials to SSEN depots throughout Argyll and the islands, including Mull, Islay, Tiree, Arran and Bute.
  • Transport plant and equipment such as excavators, tracked MEWPs and dumpers to support local operational teams.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections and promptly report any defects or issues identified.
  • Participate in a standby rota, providing support for fault response activities overnight and at weekends.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to work, undertaking a variety of duties to meet changing business requirements.

You have

  • Previous experience in a similar role and a current HGV driving licence is essential.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with excellent team-working skills and the ability to undertake physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
  • HIAB training and/or experience operating plant machinery with relevant tickets or qualifications, which would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to promoting a positive safety culture within the team.
