Energy Markets - Senior Trading Analyst

Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in Perth

Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

We are looking for a Senior Trading Analyst to help strengthen and grow our analytical capability across the French, German, Norwegian and UK markets.

This role sits at the centre of the trading desk, working in close partnership with traders and colleagues across the business. You will help bring clarity to complex market dynamics by transforming rich datasets into thoughtful insights that support confident and well-informed trading decisions.

You will contribute to the continued development of our modelling capability, helping the team deepen its understanding of market fundamentals and evolving system dynamics. Through collaboration and shared learning, you will help shape how analytics supports the desk and contributes to its commercial success.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in dynamic market environments, is curious about how energy systems and markets interact, and is motivated by seeing their analysis support real-time commercial outcomes.

You will

- Develop, maintain and thoughtfully enhance fundamental and statistical models that support trading insight and decision-making.

- Translate complex datasets into clear, accessible insights that help colleagues interpret evolving market conditions.

- Create intuitive visual tools and dashboards that make data easier to explore and incorporate into day-to-day trading decisions.

- Work in close collaboration with traders and leadership to share perspectives, explore ideas together and strengthen trading performance.

- Identify opportunities to deepen the desk’s quantitative approach and support the continued evolution of our analytical frameworks.

You have

- Experience working in a trading or market-focused analytical environment.

- Strong coding capability in Python and SQL, supported by a solid grounding in statistics.

- Experience developing analytical tools, models or dashboards that support commercial decision-making.

- The ability to contribute thoughtfully to discussions around market dynamics and trading strategy using data and analysis.

- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work constructively in fast-moving market environments.
