Civil Operations Engineer

Base Location: Inverness

The role

As a Civil Operations Engineer at SSEN Transmission, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the 132kV, 275kV, and 400kV Transmission network. This is a key opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading energy company while advancing your civil engineering expertise.

You will

- Be given the opportunity to develop pragmatic solutions to keep our existing 132kV, 275kV, and 400kV Transmission sites working to ensure a safe, flexible, and operational networks.

- Manage and undertake asset collection to create the world class asset management system that is managed by SSEN's Transmission team.

- Review and accept contractor designs for interaction with the SSEN's Transmission network,

- Project manage civil aspects of operational works and ensure that operation of plant and equipment is compliant with the company's Operational Safety Rules and industry best practice.

- Be part of the team that is responsible for creating and maintaining the Network for Net Zero.

- Enhance your current understating of legislative requirements have been delivered to keep you, your colleagues and the public safe.

You have

- Demonstrate your knowledge of statutory, regulatory and licenced requirements.

- Demonstrate the ability to gain a detailed operational knowledge of the technical and safety requirements of an electricity network including outage management.

- Excellent analytical and technical skills to be able to review, understand and overcome technical performance issues and find engineering solutions.

- Management skills that can be enhanced by working with your colleagues.

- HNC (minimum) in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification in similar background with experience gained in a utility or engineering environment.

A full and valid UK driving license is essential.
