Energy Markets - Meteorology Manager

Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in our Reading office

Salary: £60,000 - £87,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. We have the ability to adjust salary depending on an individuals existing skills and experience

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape a talented team of meteorologists and demand forecasters, playing a central role in how weather insight supports energy trading and operational decisions. As Meteorology Manager, you will create an environment where people feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work, while translating complex data into clear, thoughtful insights that guide decision-making. Working across teams, you will help connect science, analytics, and commercial outcomes, contributing to both business success and the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

You Will

- Guide, coach, and support a team of meteorologists and demand forecasters, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture

- Oversee the delivery of reliable and insightful weather and demand forecasts to support trading activities

- Build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues across trading teams, ensuring insights are clearly understood and shared

- Encourage innovation and continuous learning, helping evolve data-driven forecasting approaches in a supportive way

- Offer thoughtful expertise on weather-related risk and renewable performance to enable well-informed decisions

You Have

- Experience supporting or leading within a meteorology or forecasting environment, ideally in the energy sector

- A strong understanding of how weather and demand shape energy markets

- A thoughtful, analytical approach, with experience using data to improve forecasts and processes

- The ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, considerate, and accessible way

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a collaborative approach to delivering impact
