Lucy Ingram - Arborist Apprentice

Lucy joined SSE as an apprentice in 2023 and is currently studying for her Arborist Apprenticeship at Plumpton College on block release.  Lucy is one of our very first apprentices to join our Tree Cutting business as an apprentice.

What made you choose SSE?           

I picked SSE because they were offering me an apprenticeship in which I could learn all the skills, gain all the tickets through college and offer me full support. It is a well known company and offer so many different opportunities.

What do you enjoy most about your role?      

I enjoy being outside and working on something different every day. Meeting new people and learning new skills. Everyone I work with is always there to offer advice and are all very friendly. Any questions I have they are always there to answer and will always show me how to do something I'm unsure of.

What advice would you give to people thinking about applying for an apprenticeship with SSE?      

I would say go for it. You will get so much support throughout and you will come out with a whole new set of skills and a new appreciation for the job.
